ENETRIX

Explore data on international energy cooperation through the Energy Treaty Matrix

print enetrix.png

What is it?

  • A technological innovation applied to the analysis and improvement of cooperation initiatives between countries and international organizations in the energy field.

  • A solution based on “data diplomacy” with the capability to explore data and information from international agreements signed by more than 26 countries and 15 transnational organizations.

Why is it significant?

  • This platform will allow users worldwide to have access to analyses about international energy cooperation, with accurate data on the objectives and actions that have guided countries and international organizations in their search for energy security with sustainable development.

  • It provides essential and strategic information that was not available on international cooperative energy arrangements and that can optimize the treatment of political, economic, technological, social, and environmental issues in bilateral and multilateral commitments.

Who will benefit from it?

  • The information contained in Enetrix is not available in any international organization in the energy sector such as the IEA, IRENA, OPEC and OLADE, nor in the United Nations.

  • With detailed and secure information, Enetrix will benefit multiple stakeholders: public officials, diplomatas, and market investors to performe research, make decisions, and circulate information both across media and other networks.

What stage is it at?

  • The platform's MVP comprises the international agreements signed by Brazil, between 1990 and 2021, totaling 447 registered acts, 118 partners, and over 32 types of renewable and non-renewable energy sources. The prototype also has filtered search options. Currently, Enetrix is being  tested at the Department of Energy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, in addition to three posts abroad: Permanent Mission of Brazil to the United Nations, the Embassy of Brazil in Washington and in Ottawa.
